Description: Following his hit premiere at CapFringe ’07, John Hefner returns with an all-new show of hilarious mishaps, misadventures, and misunderstandings, all told in his signature style.

“If you have a story to tell, why the hell wouldn’t you tell it?!?” This line from How Hefnerian might serve as John Hefner’s life motto. Hefner takes events from his life and shapes them into stories, which he then shares with his family, friends, and complete strangers. For him, it is a way of making sense of the inanities of life, of creating some control, finding some identity, and hey, of purely entertaining others. Hefner has deftly structured a series of stories into a connected narrative about the search for love and meaning.

Did the quote from the show really require two question marks and an exclamation point? Yes, as it turns out. Hefner’s “signature style” is one I can only describe as high-octane, flailing, in-your-face geekiness. So if you don’t like your monologists sitting back, passively enjoying the ride, this might be the show for you.
